Are We the Right Fit for You?

When we first started talking about starting up a company, we spent many hours talking about our “ideal client”. This was an exercise recommended by many people and resources, and while we didn’t want to get trapped into thinking that everything would be “ideal”, it did help us to really shape our business philosophy. We came away from those discussions with the mutual understanding that we would practice ethically, and that we would not get sucked into the world of false promises and gimmicks.

And that world is full of people that will gladly take your money and promise you the moon. They’ll tell you it’s easy, and then they’ll blame you when it’s not working out to plan. You’ve probably been there before. Perhaps many times. Perhaps you’re tired of it.

Well we’re tired of it too.

We’ve already explained a little bit about our philosophy, and in the coming weeks, we’ll touch on some of the complexities of body weight. We know it’s not easy. We expect our clients to have setbacks and challenges, and we know the common pitfalls to look out for.

With that in mind, let us be 100% transparent on how we practice. Of course, we are very happy to expand on any of these topics and answer any questions you have during your FREE 15 MINUTE CONSULTATION.

What we do:

  • Recognize that weight can be an important measure for our clients

  • Recognize that weight can have an impact on your health and quality of life

  • Recognize that weight alone is not a very good measure of health

  • Recognize that weight is not 100% within your direct control

  • Focus on the behaviours that drive health and quality of life

  • Set small, achievable goals and build on them over time

What we don’t do:

  • Set aggressive and unrealistic weight expectations (and we’ll try to talk you out of it too)

  • Evaluate your success based only on weight

  • Promise you that it’s easy as long as you follow our “plan”

  • Set unrealistic or unsustainable dietary goals and expect you to achieve them overnight

  • Overwhelm you with too much information all at once

If you’re thinking about working with us, we’d definitely love to talk to you to learn more about your situation and your goals. Before you reach out, please take a moment to reflect on the points above and ask yourself - are we the right fit for you?

With much respect,

Adam, Sarah and Stephanie
